STEAM Summer Camp at Good Shepherd!

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored shout-out from the Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Novato

GSLS Summer STEAM Camp will inspire students to explore science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics in a fun and engaging way. Each of the seven weeks will have a different focus to give students the opportunity to tinker, to create, be innovative and be creative as they explore our world. And what is camp without fun foods?

As a part of “In the Sky and Ocean” week, students will learn about and explore in a creative way the Milky Way and our world’s oceans through a variety of art and science experiences.

Students will celebrate the 4th of July in STEAM Stars and Stripes, creating their own version of Keith Haring's Statue of Liberty art piece. And of course, fireworks will be the theme of the week.

During week 3 students will “Tinker, Create, MAKE, and Innovate.” Students will robocode with Cubelets, design creations with 3D pens, and explore with Tinker bugs.

Students will travel “Around the World in 5 Days” visiting special places such as Japan, China, Australia, and Africa through art, science and food!

Students will don capes as a part of “Superheroes of STEAM,” creating their own comics and visiting Superman’s home planet to grow crystals.

Christmas in July will be celebrated in “Exploration and Experimenting” week, as students will make it snow. Students will take part in scavenger hunts and water experiments.

What better way to end the summer of learning and exploring with a Hawaiian Holiday. Students will learn about and explore the plants, animals, foods, and culture of Hawaii.
