Espionage, ambush, and conquest -- in Much Ado About Nothing? Shakespeare recasts these weapons of war into Cupid’s arsenal when soldiers return from victory in the field only to encounter a battle of the sexes on the home front. Leading the opposing forces in a bright contest of wit are confirmed bachelors Benedick and Beatrice. Comedy skirts tragedy when, blinded by love and pride, everyone becomes easy prey for the villain Don John. But riding to the rescue comes the most unlikely band of hapless police ever seen on stage.
