WildCare Family Adventures: Hike to Fairway Falls

This event is expired.

Enjoy a FREE day of discovery and learning out in nature with the family. WildCare naturalists will lead fun family outings with the objective of deepening our commitment to taking care of the planet. To achieve this, WildCare Family Adventures groups will be visiting sites that work to preserve wildlife and our natural environment. Whenever possible, family nature hikes will be incorporated into each adventure to enjoy the local flora and fauna. These programs are in English and Spanish, and are free to the public. WildCare strongly encourages carpooling. For more information or to reserve space on our free shuttle service from the Canal area of San Rafael, contact Marco Berger by calling (415) 453-1000 x17 or email marco@wildcarebayarea.org.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28th, 2015 from 10:00am-12:30pm
WildCare Family Adventures will visit Fairway Falls in Novato, part of the Ignacio Valley Open Space Preserve. Marin's waterfalls are some of the county's hidden treasures and are best appreciated when they're running full force in winter and spring. This easy hike follows the creek through a lush forest and ends at the waterfalls. Along the way, we will look for signs of the flora and fauna that call this habitat home.

DIRECTIONS: Take Highway 101 to the Ignacio Boulevard exit in Novato and head west on Ignacio Boulevard. Turn left onto Fairway Drive and follow Fairway until you get to the end of the road. Parking is along the road.
