Summer Rock Bands at Marin Music Center

Our camp is a great opportunity for kids to learn songs and play together under the supervision of professional musicians. Players are grouped by age and experience. Bands rehearse from 10 AM to 2 PM with a ½ hour lunch break. The bands learn to play about 4 songs of their choice coached by Stuart Lehman-Brown, a Berkelee School of Music graduate, and Mick Berry, the author of “ The Drummers Bible”.

On Friday, we record the songs and there is a performance for parents and friends in our classroom. Band members take home a CD of the songs they have learned. All amps,Mics and drums are provided.  The cost of the one week camp is $250 (paid in advance).

Young Writer's Workshop

Through interactive games and activities, young writers learn to wow readers with exciting scenes, compelling dialogue, and active language that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Then, they write original short stories that are published in a professional-style class anthology. This camp is run by Brenda Zahn, a professional writer/journalist with 20 years of experience.

Workshops are for kids ages 8 and up (and teens, too!), and are held at Northbay ArtWorks in Novato. The cost is $110 per session.

Basic Machine Sewing Ages 14-16 Camp

Basic Machine Sewing: Come and learn zig zag stitch, presser feet and bobbins to get your own sewing machine driver's license at Mimi the Sardine. For ages 14-16 starting June 17-21st from 9:00-1:00 p.m. The cost is $350--7 persons maximum.
 
Pia Andersson holds both a Masters in Textile Arts from the University of Gothenburg and a degree in Textile Engineering from Chalmers University, Sweden. She has been sewing clothes since she was a young girl and began designing commercially here in the States since 1990. She has taught all ages in Sweden and in the U.S. where many fondly know her as the creator and owner of Mimi the Sardine

Camps take place Monday-Thursday. There are half-day camps from 8:30 am-12:30 pm ($395) or full-day camps from 8:30 am-4:30 pm ($595). The Little Swingers camp (ages 5-7) takes place from 10 am-noon ($195).

Morning Star Farm

MORNING STAR FARM SUMMER HORSE CAMPS:

Welcome Horse lovers! If you are between the ages of 5-15 years, our summer day camp is just what you are looking for. We offer English/Western horse camps for youth. Campers are grouped by ages and riding styles. Our enthusiastic Certified Instructors teach riding and horse care skills combined with many fun and exciting activities—some of which include Trail Riding, Vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) Bareback and Petting Zoo time. There will also be show at the end of each week so campers can show off their newly acquired equestrian skills.

Go Skate Skateboard Camp

"Check out this awesome skate camp at McInnis Park in San Rafael. This camp is especially for beginners who want to get comfortable on a skateboard and at the skate park. You will learn tricks like ollie, kickflips and how to ride the ramps. We also cover safety and practice new tricks every day! By the end of the clinic, you will be able to show all of your friends. It's 5 days of fun! Bring your skateboard, helmet, protective gear, water, and get ready for a ride. Helmet, elbow pads and knee pads are required."

Country Club Bowl Summer Youth Camp

Country Club Bowl is also offering summer youth camps for bowlers ages 7–18. Certified bowling coaches will introduce kids to bowling fundamentals with the aim of both improving skills and having a blast. Bowling, instruction, and a snack are provided, and campers will even have the chance to purchase their own bowling ball. The session takes place on July 23–27, Monday–Friday, noon–4 pm. The cost is only $90 per session for each bowler. Sign up online or at the bowling alley. Space if limited, so register early.

Art Reactor is offering half-day, week-long summer classes where you will learn how to create DIGITAL ART.

We provide customized Digital Art curriculum that is designed to sequentially build art and tech skills from beginner to advanced. Because of our small class size of 8 students, we are able to individualize each child’s learning experience based on his or her own knowledge and experience he or she has gained from previous Art Reactor classes.

What does all this mean? This means each time a student takes one of our digital art summer programs, he or she will learn new and exciting ways of creating Digital Art.
