Acting Out At The Throck: 142 Throckmorton Theatre's Summer Camp. Session 1 (2-5 graders) -- June 24th - July 12th, 2013 - 9-3pm Daily
The 2nd-5th graders will be performing THE GRUNCH, a new musical for young performers! THE GRUNCH tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 5th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; he'll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. But will the spirit of theatre prevail? This fun, energetic musical revue is designed to give a wide range of young performers an opportunity to hit the stage and shine! Campers spend the first part of the day rehearsing and doing show-related crafts. The second part of the day is spent focusing on singing, acting and dance training, in small, age-based groups. New this year, a field trip to the mountain theater for a day of outdoor theatre fun. Also, the ever popular Barbecue and Movie Night will be making a return for it's fifth year this summer! Session culminates in a free performance of the new musical THE GRUNCH, for friends and family to attend, on the last day of the session, Friday July 12! Price: $1,025.00

This summer we are proud to announce the start of our awesome summer camps. Combining outdoor fun in Roy’s Redwoods and in Peri Park with great Kung Fu workouts and picnics will be super fun! We’ll also watch one or two fun Kung Fu comedies. Students in the Praying Mantis, Buddha Palm, Sword Immortal, and Sparring Form weeks will learn entire forms and earn impressive certificates for their accomplishments. We are planning being outside for most of the day. Since Roy’s Redwoods and other great areas are so close by we will emphasize hiking and training our kung fu outdoors in beautiful places. We’ll rest, regroup back at the school in our home base room with sofas, chairs and a good TV, and watch a couple of Kung Fu movies each week!
When we head to Roy’s Redwoods we’ll simply walk up the hill behind the school, over the golf course bridge over the road, and spend all day in the Redwoods having a picnic for lunch. p.s. Bring your own lunch, snacks and water bottle. Van pick up at Fairfax available, There are toilets at the trail head. Fairfax Camp will be in the Fairfax Pavilion. This gives easy access to the wonderful Peri Park for easy outdoor play!
