Ross Valley Nike Lacrosse Camp

For the fourth consecutive summer, the Nike Lacrosse Camp at Redwood High School returns. USSC and the Ross Valley Lacrosse Club offer this four day camp. This is a 'complete skills' camp designed for players ages 8-14. In addition to group drills, personal instruction and scrimmaging, a special lacrosse video session is held each day in a nearby classroom, exposing campers to the highest level of play. Redwood High School boasts one of the best turf fields in Marin County. This type of field helps campers familiarize themselves with playing the game at a high speed, forcing greater anticipation and quicker mental reads, but with a feel that is more like grass. Devil's Gulch Ranch summer camps are focused around connecting children and young adults to agriculture, nature, outdoor recreation, and our ancestral past. All our camps have capacities of 30 or less with staff to students ratios of 1:5 with some activities being 1:1 and 2:1.

In all camps, the start of each day for all participants is doing routine farm chores. The rest of the day is devoted to learning about agriculture, getting connected to the forest, creeks, and meadows around the ranch, learning primitive skills, doing crafts centered on natural materials, developing skills in archery, atlatl, tomahawk, rappelling or horsemanship. Each day of the week has time for free play or exploration. One day of the week is devoted to a wander in the forest.
