Mother Love by Candice Bargioni
In February 1974 the statue of a mother bear and her three cubs was installed in the Novato Library atrium. The statue was a gift from the Nova-Marin Grandmothers Club. In September 1972, they awarded $1,000 to Candice Bargioni, a College of Marin art student, after her design was chosen by a committee that included two club members, a sculptor, and the architect who designed the library.
