MPOMC Mission Statement
It is the mission of Marin Parents of Multiples to provide educational, social, and emotional support to parents of multiples.

Monthly Parenting Seminar
The monthly parenting seminars, held on the second Thursday of each month (September to June), feature experts who speak on a variety of parenting issues, especially as they relate to the challenges of parents raising twins and multiples. The seminars also cover developmental milestones, such as potty training, that become extra challenging when faced with the task of training two, three or more at once!

One seminar a year is devoted to a Multiples Forum where several sets of different-aged multiples are guest speakers. They give firsthand information and share tales of what it was like growing up as a multiple. We set aside quite a bit of time for Q&A at this special gathering.

The monthly seminar is also a terrific way to meet other moms and dads of multiples. Parents can socialize while gathering a few tips and perhaps have a good laugh with a like-minded and similarly sleep-deprived new friend who really understands what you're going through as a parent of multiples.

Monthly Newsletter
The monthly newsletter has valuable information about parenting multiples; upcoming events; latest news about club members; activity ideas; local park critiques; a marketplace column for selling or buying used baby items, or seeking professional services; recipes; classified ads and many other things.

Playgroups
These are age-specific groups which address the special needs of newborn multiples and toddler multiples.

Socials
There are regular social events, such as a Halloween Party and Spring Egg Hunt (for the kids), and a Summer Cocktail Party and Holiday Party (for the parents). In addition, there are monthly Moms' Outings and Dads' Outings.

Support
To help pregnant moms and new parents of multiples adjust to their new life, there are many things we offer: support groups for specific age groups; once a month toddler play dates; meals for moms; a member resource list where you can contact other mothers in similar situations for their advice and support; a big sibling program, where new and experienced parents are teamed up to provide on-going support; preemie clothes closet where you can borrow items; a twice a year sale, where you can buy or sell used baby items; a Welcome Packet filled with multiples birth-related information, and local and national resources; and an egroup (using Mighty-Moms) where members with email access can participate in online discussions with each other.

Community Service
MPOMC believes it is important to help those in our community in need. So for the holidays, we participate in Adopt-A-Family, where we "adopt" a few families in need, and provide them with gifts from their wish lists.

Fundraising
We have a few fundraising programs throughout the year. In summer, we have a group-wide garage sale. In the spring we will have a cookie dough sale, where a percentage of the profits goes back to our group.

MPOMC Bylaws
The latest MPOMC Bylaws were instituted March 2004. Please click here to view the bylaws as a pdf document.
