Easter egg hunt in Marin

Easter is just a few weeks away (it's on Sunday, March 27 this year), so it's time to start planning for egg hunts, breakfast with bunny and other special events. Part of the fun is celebrating spring and the Easter season with a traditional egg hunt, and there are Easter egg hunts scheduled at communities throughout Marin County.

Here's our list of fun Easter egg hunts and events taking place in Marin and other locations in the Bay Area. We'll update this list as we find out about additional events. If we've left out your favorite Marin or Bay  Easter egg hunt, please let us know and we'll add it to the roster.

Easter Bunny Photos

While your kids are waiting for the big day, they can visit the Easter Bunny and have their picture taken with him at his whimsical spring house at Northgate in Terra Linda. He'll be at the Macy's wing from March 9–March 26, 2016. Hours are Monday–Thursday, noon–8 pm, Friday-Saturday, 10 am-9 pm and Sunday, 11 am–6 pm. Corte Madera / Larkspur

  • Flashlight Egg Hunt
    Piper Park
    Friday, March 25, 8:15 pm

    Grab your flashlight and basket and join us at Piper Park for our first Flashlight Egg Hunt! Eggs stuffed with goodies will be spread across a section of the Park. When the horn sounds, flashlights will turn on and the search begins! The hunt will begin at pre-cisely 8:30pm so don’t be late! For kids ages 9+. Location: 250 Doherty Dr, Larkspur.   • Easter Celebration & Easter Egg Hunt!
    Marin Country Mart Farmers Market
    Saturday, March 26, 9 am–2 pm

    Come to Poppy Store at 10:30 am on March 26 to kick off Marin Country Mart’s annual Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny in the courtyard on the green. Children ages 5 and under are welcome. Bring your Easter basket ready to search for eco-friendly eggs filled with Easter treats. Baby chicks and a small animal petting zoo will be on display at Victoria's Fashion Stable, where children can also enjoy a pony ride. If your child wants to look like a rabbit or chick, then stop by the market's face painting booth! There will be children's musical entertainment featuring Miss Kitty from 9:30-10:30 am.   • Spring Egg Hunt

    Grab your basket and join us for the Spring Egg Hunt at beautiful Piper Park in Larkspur! Children will be divided into age-specific areas to search for eggs. Keep an eye out for the Golden Eggs which are filled with gift certificates to local busi-nesses! We’ll also have a small petting zoo, crafts, hot cocoa and the Bunny to take photos with!   • 4th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt
    San Clemente Park, Corte Madera
    Saturday, March 26, 10–10:30 am
    Hillside Church of Marin is excited to host a community Easter Egg Hunt the day before Easter. With over 2000 eggs, separate areas for under 3 yrs and big kids and a pictures with the Easter Bunny we have something for everyone!
    This is a free event for the community, everyone is invited! We will start at 10am sharp so be on time! It's over in about  3minutes! Older kids will start at 10 am and under 3's will begin at 10:10 am (staggering the start times allow parents with children in both age groups to have fun with all their kids!).     Child safe bounce houses, train rides, jelly bean counting contest, Easter Bunny photos and a toddler fun area. Free egg hunt is for ages 10 and younger.     Get in the spring spirit by participating in the annual San Anselmo Children's Egg Hunt! We'll split the kids into three age groups for this hunt, and we set the kids off at the sound of the fire truck's siren! Parent assistance is allowed in the 0–2 age group, otherwise please let your kids hunt! Egg hunt starts at 11 am sharp. Parents, bring your camera in case you happen to see a lovable bunny hopping around! In addition, there will be a Summer Camp Fair being held at the upper lawn at Memorial Park from 10:30 am to 1 pm.     Sausalito's old-fashioned Easter celebration starts with a parade on Caledonia Street at 10 am, followed by an egg hunt at Dunphy Park at 10:15 am.   • 22nd Annual Eggster Egghunt and Learning Festival
    Campanile, UC Berkeley

    Eggster is a student organization sponsored by ASUC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Berkeley. Every year it organizes and runs the Eggster Egghunt and Learning Festival, the largest free egg hunt in Northern California.   • Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Celebration

    Join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt through the vineyard! The Easter Egg Hunt starts promptly at 10:00 am and generally ends by 10:05 am.  Cost: $12 per child (ages 12 & under).
