    The NorCal Ice (formerly known as Marin on Ice) outdoor skating rink in San Rafael's Northgate Mall returns to offers al fresco skating. The rink will once again be located near the center's Oaktree Plaza and features 6,400 square feet of real ice. Skating costs $15 per person, which includes skate rental and all-day in-and-out privileges. "Skate Buddies" (the blue plastic chair-like supports) are available to rent for beginners ($5 per hour).     This year the parade will again be led by Santa, aboard the San Rafael Police Boat the “Mission City.”  He will be followed by boats filled with Holiday revelers.  Parade-watchers along both shores will exchange season’s greetings with boats, many of which will carry singers and be playing music. Rain or shine -- The parade will begin as boats converge at the east end of the San Rafael Canal, across from Pickleweed Park at 6:00 p.m.  The San Rafael police boat “Mission City” will emerge from the Marin Yacht Club marina to lead the parade.  Boats will proceed east along the Canal to the Turning Basin behind Montecito Shopping Center, and back to Pickleweed Park.     Join us for amazing stargazing! Using binoculars, a spotting scope and telescopes, we’ll study the face of the moon and learn more about constellations and the night sky.     Their home is something that truly has to be seen to be believed, and photos don't really do it justice. There are something like 140,000 lights as well as countless figurines, dioramas, and decorations adorning the front and side yards, walls, and roof of the Rombeiro house. If you think the outside is impressive, then you need to go on inside and get a healthy dose of Christmas spirit.   • An Afternoon with Santa

    Bring the whole family into Santa’s Workshop as jolly old St. Nick himself makes his first appearance of the holiday season! Commemorate the occasion by taking a photo of your kids with Santa Claus, while indulging in milk & cookies and other holiday treats. Kids are invited for an afternoon of fun as they decorate gingerbread houses, stockings and more. After fun and refreshments for all, the merry afternoon continues with Cavallo Point's Tree Lighting Festival (5 pm) featuring carriage rides, caroling and holiday shopping.     Kick off the holiday season with complimentary fun for families and adults.
