- The 56th annual Sausalito Art Festival takes place Labor Day Weekend on the Sausalito waterfront at the Bay Model Visitor Center and Marinship Park. Enjoy a wide selection of art and artists as well as fabulous live music. There will lots of children’s entertainment including Tim Cain and The Magic Family Cirucus show. - Have you been looking to adopt a cat or dog into your family? Make sure you visit the Milo Foundation pet adoption event in San Rafael on Saturday August 30th from noon-4:00 pm. - Enjoy the sounds of blues, jazz, roots music, and the sounds of New Orleans at the free Homestead Valley Music Festival, this Sunday, August 31, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. Performers include Rhythmtown-Jive, The California Honeydrops, Dgiin, and the Young Performers International band Eclypss. Food and drink will be available for sale, and there will be an arts and crafts room for kids. The festival takes place at the Homestead Valley Community Center, 315 Montford Street, Mill Valley. - Celebrate Labor Day at the Family-friendly BBQ on the lawn at Rancho Nicasio on the Town Square on Sunday, August 31 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. - Bring the family to Belvedere and Tiburon’s fourth annual Labor Day Parade. The parade takes place on Sunday in downtown Tiburon near the Tiburon Library at the corner of Tiburon Boulevard and Mar West Street at 2:30 pm. - Grab some sand and use your creativity at the Annual Sand Sculpture Contest at Drake's Beach. Contest categories include children, families, adult individuals, and adult groups. Bring a picnic and spend the day being a kid. The contest is from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Registration is at 9 am, judging is at noon and prizes are awarded at 3:30 pm. - Family entertainer Enzo Garcia present Breakfast with Enzo at the Mill Valley Golf Course Clubhouse every Sunday. There will be two different sets of music at 10 and 11 am. Enzo invites you, your friends, family, and neighbors to join him for a morning of genuine, heartfelt, sing-along family fun. - The Civic Center Farmers' Market in San Rafael takes place Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm. They have lots of organically grown produce, breads, eggs, and fresh cut flowers. Live music by the Mad Maggies and That Man Fantastic. This farmers' market is a great one to take the kids to. If you haven’t been there yet, it’s located in the main Civic Center parking lot. - The 11th Annual Marin City Blues 'N' Soul Party in the Park takes place on Labor Day at the 100 block of Drake Avenue from noon to 6 pm. This free community concert features performances by Narada Michael Walden, John Lee Hooker, Jr. and Zakiya Hooker, Miko Marks, Fillmore Slim, and others. Food available includes BBQ, catfish, and homemade desserts There will also be fashion, classic car, Corvette, and motorcycle shows. Children can enjoy a kids zone for ages 2-12.
