Marin County Easter Egg Hunts 2008

Easter egg hunt with the Easter BunnyMy children love this time of year when the Easter bunny comes to town. Part of the fun is celebrating spring and the Easter season with a traditional egg hunt. This year there are  Easter egg hunts scheduled at communities throughout Marin. We'll update this list as we find out about additional events. If we've left out your favorite Marin Easter egg hunt, please let us know and we'll add it to the roster.

Fairfax:

Fairfax Community Center egg hunt, Saturday, March 22 at 10:30 am at Bolinas Park. For more info, call (415) 453-1584.

Larkspur:

The Larkspur Recreation Department holds an egg hunt on Saturday, March 22 at 10:00 am sharp at Piper Park located at 250 Doherty Drive in Larkspur. For more info, call (415) 927-6746.

Mill Valley:

The Mill Valley Community Center will have a Teen Zone Flashlight Egg Hunt for 6th thru 8th grades on Friday, March 14, from 7–9:30 pm. The night will start with dinner and games, then we will take out our flashlights and we're off for the great hunt!! If you find Golden Eggs you will receive special prizes! You can register for the hunt a the Mill Valley Community Center desk, deadline for registration is March 7, 2008. The cost is $12 for TZ members or $16 for non-TZ members.

The Mill Valley Community Center will also be having a Spring Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 15. There will be a bunny breakfast from 8:30–11:30 am where you can meet Mr. E Bunny. There will also be a jump house, train rides music and more. Tickets are now available for the breakfast at the community center. Adults $6.00, children $4.00. Mr. E. Bunny will start each hunt: 10 am for ages 2 and under, and 10:15 am for ages 3–4 and ages 5–8. Three separate hunts at two different times to help the morning flow smoothly. Miwok Stables at Tennessee Valley presents Easter egg hunts at noon and 12:30 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at their Open House. A visit from the Easter Bunny is expected! Also includes docent tours of the stables and a nature photography show. Noon to 2 pm. Free. Information: (415) 383-8048 or miwokstablescenter.org

Strawberry Recreation District Candy Hunt & Carnival on Saturday, March 22 at 10:00 am for ages 2 thru 8. There will be a candy hunt, games and prizes. Admission is $5 per child. The Strawberry Recreation Center is located at 118 E. Strawberry Drive in Mill Valley. Call (415) 383-6494 for more info.

 

Novato:

There will be an egg hunt at Pioneer Park, this Sunday, March 16 at 1:00 pm. Pioneer Park is located off of Simmons Lane in Novato.

The San Marin Improvement Association will be having a Easter Egg Hunt and Family BBQ at on Saturday, March 22 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Miwok Park in Novato.

The Downtown Novato Business Association will be having a Spring Celebration in downtown Novato, on March 22, 2008 from 11–2 pm. The Easter Egg Hunt will be taking place at 11:00 am with the Easter Bunny. There will be a dance performance at 10:30 am, a Jubilee Jump, and face painting. More info: www.dnba.net

San Rafael:

The Marinwood Community Center will be having Breakfast with Bunny and an egg hunt on Saturday, March 22 at Marinwood Park. The free egg hunt begins at 10 am and the breakfast will follow right after. Breakfast is $4.00 if purchased by March 21 and $6.00 at the door. www.marinwood.org

After the morning's Easter egg hunts, check out the annual Alice in Wonderland Spring Fair at Falkirk Cultural Center in San Rafael. Celebrate spring with characters from the beloved book, performed by the Stark Ravens theatrical group, and enjoy live music by Enzo Garcia. 2 pm on Saturday, March 22. Only $5 per person; pay at the gate. www.falkirkculturalcenter.org.

Elephant Pharmacy in San Rafael will having an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday March 23 from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Kids under 10 are welcome to hunt through their classroom for chocolate eggs. Elephant Pharmacy is located at 909 Grand Avenue in San Rafael. For more info, call (415) 462-6000.

San Anselmo:

San Anselmo Parks and Recreation holds an egg hunt on Friday, March 21 from 7:30–8:15 pm for kids ages 8 and older at Memorial Park in San Anselmo. Bring your flashlight and basket to collect treats. They also will be having an Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 22 at 11 am at Memorial Park for kids ages 7 and younger. The Eggstravaganza will include an egg hunt and a chance to take a picture with the Easter Bunny, so bring your cameras. There will also be a magic show following the egg hunt at 11:30 am. Sausalito:

The City of Sausalito holds its annual Easter Parade and Egg Hunt on Saturday March 22, from 10 am–noon. The Easter Bunny will lead the parade, which begins at the fire station at the corner of Johnson and Caledonia Streets. Then, after the parade, the festivities will take place at Dunphy Park, and will include an old-fashioned egg hunt, crafts for the kids, live entertainment, and an Easter bonnet contest. So put on your best bonnet (with all the frills upon it) and come join the fun. For more info, go to their website.
