A quick update to our popular organic ice cream post—There's now an organic gelato shop in Mill Valley. Cici Gelateria, at 17 E. Blithedale offers a wide selection of organic Italian gelatos, sorbets, and, for those caffeine addicts, coffee drinks. Flavors include traditional favorites and Italian specialties, and will vary depending on the availability of local seasonal ingredients. They're open Monday–Thursday from 10 am to 10 pm, and stay open until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. More info: 338-2423.We accidentally overlooked longtime Marin favorite Silbermann's Ice Cream in Terra Linda, which offers organic ice creams in addition to their regular lineup. Organic flavors are limited, but they still have numerous others to choose from (Turkish coffee! Mmmmm). Silbermann's is a family-run business, and they make their own ice cream in-house. Open from 11:30 am to 10 pm every day, they're located where they've been for the past four decades, in the Northgate I shopping center off Freitas Parkway. Organic Ice Cream...
My husband and I were in Mill Valley with our girls over the weekend, so we stopped by CiCi's. The gelato was decent, but the only thing phenomenal about it was the price - $4.50 for a small cup!
We also stopped by Silbermann's to ask about their organic ice cream, but the girl behind the counter looked at us like we were crazy.
