Marin Events:

  • Strawberry Halloween Faire with candy and prize hunt
    Friday, October 30; sessions at 10:30 am and 3 pm
    For kids ages 1–9. All children must be accompanied by an adult. $5 per child, includes jumpy house, carnival games, prizes, and candy hunt. Strawberry Recreation District, 118 East Strawberry Drive, Mill Valley. Sign in at SRD gym. More info: strawberry.marin.org
  • Howl'oween Spooktacular
    Strawberry Village Shopping Center in Mill Valley

    Friday, October 30, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm
    Come bring the family for trick-or-treating from at participating stores from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. There will also be a pet costume contest at 5:00 pm.   • Special Halloween Sing and Dance with Bonnie Lockhart
    Tiburon-Belvedere Library
    Saturday, October 31, 11 am

    Costumes welcome, but not required. Local musician Bonnie Lockhart will encourage kids to sing and dance in this free music program

  • Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Lane
    Sausalito City Hall
    Saturday, October 31, 6–8 pm.

    Kids of all ages are welcome to come in costume for a Halloween Parade and for some Trick or Treat. Come on down to the Sausalito City Hall, located at Caledonia and Litho Streets in Sausalito for a spooky time. For more info, call (415) 289-4100.
  • Downtown Novato Halloween Safe Trick or Treat
    Saturday, October 31, 11 am–3 pm

    Grant Avenue, Old Town Novato
    Come trick or treat on Grant Avenue in downtown Novato! Businesses along the avenue will be handing out treats and helping everyone get into the Halloween spirit.
  • Halloween Stomp with the Time Outs at the Bay Area Discovery Museum
    Saturday, October 31, 11 am
    Join the Time Outs for a Halloween dance party, part of the BADM's Hip Kid's Music Series. Come in costume and enjoy a lively mix of kid-centric indie pop, '60s garage band tunes, and good old fashioned rock-and-roll. Sing along, learn some new dance moves, and walk like a monster.   • Halloween at the Bolinas Museum
    Saturday, October 31, noon–2 pm
    Free performance in Bolinas Museum's Wintersteen Courtyard features Jeremy Shafer—juggler, magician, and origami master—who will delight, astound,

  • Trick or Treat Down Fourth Street in San Rafael
    Saturday, October 31, 1–2:30 pm

    Every year, the Downtown San Rafael Business Improvement District (BID) hosts a free and safe Trick or Treating experience for kids on Fourth Street in Downtown San Rafael, starting at San Rafael City Plaza. For more info, call (415) 720-5591.
  • Book Passage Halloween Party
    Saturday, October 31, 4–8 pm

    The Book Passage is throwing a Halloween party featuring The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman! Join them for party games, costume contests, cool prizes and tasty snacks, and a read-aloud corner! And the independent book store that throws the scariest party wins a signing with Neil Gaiman himself. Oooooo, scary, folks! The Book Passage is at 51 Tamal Vista Blvd. in Corte Madera.   • Halloween Bash at Bon Air Center in Greenbrae
    Saturday, October 31, noon–4 pm
    Come trick-or-treat at the local store and enjoy games and prizes.
  • Downtown Fairfax Halloween Parade
    Saturday, October 31, 5-7 pm

    Meet in front of the Fairfax Theater and walk down Broadway and Bolinas Rd. to Bolinas park where you will find a Haunted Grove for the children. Glow necklaces and candy for all and Face Painting by Tatyana and Marie Kate by the Fairfax Theater.

  • Boo at the Zoo—Oakland Zoo
    October 24, 25, and 31
    10 am–3 pm
    Come in costume to the Oakland Zoo and collect yummy treats, get Halloween safety tips, and ride the spooky boo train. Be part of the Halloween costume parade at noon. Kids in costume receive a free train ride. Free with general zoo admission. More info: www.oaklandzoo.org or (510) 632-9525
  • Not-Too-Spooky Halloween
    Habitot Children's Museum
    Saturday, October 31
    9:30 am–4:30 pm

    Come in costume to a not-too-spooky day for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Play miniature golf in the infant-toddler garden graveyard, conduct experiments on slime in the Art Studio, fly paper ghosts in the Wind Tunnel and listen to Halloween stories in the Witch's Tent at 11 am–noon.
