If you're not into photo cards but still want to send out professionally designed, personalized holiday cards, Galison may foot the bill. We like Galison for their innovative and fun Mudpuppy line of children's games, puzzles, toys, and children's stationery products (read what we've had to say about some of their products here and here). Galison's specialty is cards and stationery featuring stylish, fun graphic design as well as art masterpieces from museums and collections around the world. Check out their cool Holiday Cards in Tins, which feature 12 matching cards and envelopes in a colorful tin. They also offer a wide range of arty and sophisticated holiday cards, with themes including fine art, Asian art, vintage photography, angel and religious art, snow scenes, and, "sunbelt" cards featuring no snow scenes whatsoever for those of us who live where snow is rarely seen.
Perhaps the cards we like the best are the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Christmas Cards (so much for fine art...), featuring stills from the classic Rankin-Bass puppet animation Christmas special from the '60s. Three different styles plus a portfolio are available, as well as a 36-piece puzzle and a 2-sided "Rudolph Joy/Love" puzzle, which would make great stocking stuffers for the Rudolph fans in your life. Galison/Mudpuppy also offers other holiday-themed gift items, such as reusable advent calendars and puzzles like the Merry Christmas Block Puzzle, which doubles as a set of building blocks.
Order from Galison online and they'll knock off 15% off your order for signing up for their e-mail list.
