Rainy Day Drop-in Activities for the Little Ones

With small children bouncing off the walls at home on a rainy day, I’m always looking for places to go to burn off all that energy. Here are a few ideas for rainy day drop-in activites:
Novato
Novato has a new indoor play and activity center for young children aged 6 months to 6 years. Playtime Safari is a place for parents to socialize with each other while spending quality time with their children. There are several themed activity areas including a train table, dress-up and costume play, mini kitchen, arts and crafts, music, and more! Hours for January are Monday–Friday 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Admission is $8 per child aged 6 months to 6 years, newborns younger than 6 months are free. They are located at 5470 Nave Drive, Novato, CA 94949. Mill Valley
The Mill Valley Community Center offers Jump Indoor Play on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to noon in the Cascade Room. They offer a safe and fun place for children to run around and play. There is a castle jump house, pull toys, balls and obstacles to play on. The cost is $5 per child or $7 per family. For more info, call (415) 383-1377.
Sausalito
The Sausalito Recreation Department offers a few different drop-in options:
Tot Club drop-in is an open play program every Monday and Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am where little ones can play and crawl in a safe environment. Staff is always on hand. For ages newborn to 3 years. The drop-in cost is $5 for a residents and $8 for non-resident. The Tot Club drop-in takes place at the City Hall Exercise Room, 420 Litho Street in Sausalito. Adventure Club drop-in is located in a larger space that offers the kids room to burn off a little more energy. Bring the kids to play in the bounce room, drive kiddie cars, jump on a trampoline, play with puppets, tumble on mats, draw pictures, or do some puzzles. The Adventure Club drop-in takes place every Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 am and is located at MLK Gym, 610 Coloma Street. The drop-in cost is also $5 for a residents and $8 for non-residents. They also offer an Adventure and Tot Super Club card which is good for 8 visits to either of the above programs; the cost is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents.
Music for Tots drop-in takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 10:30 am. Music For Tots celebrates the world of song, rhythm and movement. The children will sing and clap together, learn fingerplays, how to play simple percussion instruments, and dance. The songs are all well-known children's songs including some by Raffi, Ella Jenkins, and Woody Guthrie, as well as a few originals by the instructor and a song or two in Spanish. The cost is $8 for residents and $10 for non-residents. For ages up to 3. Sausalito Parks and Recreation is located at the City Hall, 420 Litho Street in Sausalito.
