Love this school!

I have sent all three of my children to Mill Valley Nursery School and have been so happy there. I love participating in the classroom and observing my daughter's (and other kids') interactions there. It is amazing to be part of her first "school" experience and see her grow in so many ways.

The Director, Cathy Davis, is a highly credentialed, experienced and dedicated child educator. She has been with the school for almost 20 years. She guides the kids' learning through play-based experiences, identifying the key "teaching moments" that happen so many times each day.

The community of families at the school is very strong. It has been amazing to be a part of. Since we all work so closely together, we develop a real bond that lasts well beyond preschool.

In sum, I would highly recommend MVNS to anyone who is interested in being involved in their kids' first school experience and who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get messy with the kids!

A great hands on experience for children and their parents

I want to give a shout out for this school. My first time participating was when my first child (now 21 years old) began his first school experience here. It was amazing and I was so inspired to work with children that I actually went back to school applying in early childhood educational and child psychology courses. I followed with my second child (now 18) and am a current parent with my third child, who is 4.

When it was time to look for a school for my 3 year old, there was nothing that compared to this school. We are back and enjoying the play based curriculum with specialty classes in science, art, gardening (we even have chickens and a compost), cooking, yoga and music. And get this, we have the same director that was there the first time through (Teacher Cathy) who is full of wisdom for the students and parents.

The best part of this school is that you are an integral part of your child's school life. Their learning experience becomes yours as well. Many families I know that have gone through this school (and it is a lot over the last 16 years) realize how important it is to be a part of the school experience and become leaders in PTA and other school organizations.
