Once again, the
Marin Symphony Family Concert will be taking place on Sunday, September 30 at 3:00 pm in the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium at Marin Center in San Rafael. The theme of this family-friendly concert is
“Heroes and Villains”. The Marin Symphony’s Family Concerts are special one-hour programs designed to introduce children to the wonders of symphonic music. Narrated by KDFC radio’s Hoyt Smith, the concert features John Williams’ “Superman March”, Beethoven’s
Wellington’s Victory, “The Queen of the Night Aria” from Mozart’s
Magic Flute, and other pieces by Grieg, Holst, Stravinsky, Rossini and Handel.
If you haven’t been to one of the Marin Symphony’s Family Concerts yet, you really owe it to yourself to check one out. My husband took our son to their family concert back in April, and they both had a great time. As an added bonus, they were able to try out orchestra instruments in the Marin Center’s Redwood Foyer after the concert, which was really neat. Kids will have that chance again at September’s concert, too.
Tickets are a bargain: $10 for adults and $5 for children. To order advance tickets, call the Marin Center Box Office at
415-499-6800. Seating is general admission, so get there early for a good spot, as it’s a popular performance. More information:
