"Was That ME Yelling?" A Class for Parents at Parents Place Marin
July 2, 2012Posted by pamela |
If you're sick and tired of feeling you have to yell at your kids (and seriously, who isn't sometimes?), check out the class titled "Was that ME Yelling?" at the Parents Place Marin on July 12 from 6:30–8:30 pm.
Yelling can be caused by a number of factors, including stress, depression, anger, and more. Most parents agree that yelling isn’t beneficial, but many report that they just don’t know what else to do when their children misbehave. Learn to create a plan—and more—to address the issues that trigger yelling. This class is appropriate for parents of children of all ages, from infants to teenagers.
"Was That ME Yelling?" is facilitated by parent educator and consultant Rona Renner, RN. Rona has concentrated for the last 20 years of her professional life on parent education and community outreach, and is the host of the Childhood Matters radio program. A graduate of the Brooklyn College School of Nursing, Rona was also trained by Kaiser Permanente as a temperament specialist. She leads parenting workshops focusing on temperament, behavior and anger management, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)—among her areas of expertise—and consults with parents on a wide range of concerns.
Preregistration is required for this workshop; registration fee is $35. Register online or by phone at (415) 491-7959. The class takes place at Parents Place in San Rafael at 600 Fifth Avenue. For more information, visit www.parentsplaceonline.org/marin or call (415) 491-7959.
