2018 Humane Summer Camps at Marin Humane

Pet-loving kids can get hands-on experience with a variety of animals with Marin Humane's 2018 Humane Summer Camps. These popular camps at the Marin Humane campus in Novato teach children important skills in animal handling, care, and welfare.
Children entering grades 1 through 6 can attend Junior Humane Summer Camp, Humane Summer Camp, and Senior Humane Summer Camp, where activities include animal-themed arts and crafts, games and activities, an introduction to careers involving animals, and daily visits from the Marin Humane's Animal Ambassadors.
Older children entering grades 7 through 12 can attend Advanced Humane Summer Camp, where they will experience the daily work of an animal shelter. They will learn about animal related careers, animal care and behavior, and animal welfare, and get daily hands-on experience with shelter and volunteer animals. Teens can also participate as Teen Camp Assistants, where they'll assist for one week-long camp session and earn community service credit.
Junior Humane Summer Camp (entering grades 1 or 2 in fall 2018) has two one-week sessions starting June 25 from 8:30 am to noon or 9 am to 12:30 pm; registration is $215. Humane Summer Camp (entering grades 3 or 4 in fall 2018) has sessions starting June 18 and July 23 (two sessions each) which run from 9 am to 3 pm or 9:30 am to 3:30 pm; registration fee is $315. Senior Humane Summer Camp (entering grades 5 or 6 in fall 2018) has sessions starting June 11, July 16, and August; they run 9 am to 3 pm or 9:30 am to 3:30 pm; registration is $315.
Advanced Humane Summer Camp for teens (entering grades 7 through 12 in fall 2018) and has three sessions starting July 9 and July 30. Camp hours are 9:30 am–1:30 pm or 9 am to 1 pm and the registration fee is $225.
These camps have limited space and are extremely popular. Registration takes place online and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a camp session is full it will be closed. Online registration will go live on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at noon PST. Scholarships are available for low-income families.
Students entering grades 7 to 12 can apply to be Teen Camp Assistants (TCAs) and earn community service credits by helping young campers with their projects and assisting camp staff. Each Teen Camp Assistant works directly with a group of 4–5 campers for the entire camp session. TCA applications will be available online in February. Applicants will be notified of acceptance in late March.
