The Buck Institute Needs YOU to Help Advance Aging Research
Marin Mommies presents a sponsored article from the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.
Exciting news for those of us who care about living better, longer! The world-renowned Buck Institute for Research on Aging in Novato is running clinical studies to help us understand what we can do today to age well, and they need the community to take part.
Is your metabolism changing as you age? Researchers are looking for volunteers for a study looking at how people of different ages metabolize a cellular energy source called ketones. Over the long term, researchers want to test if ketones can help fuel the body to improve brain and body function as we age.
The study involves a screening visit followed by a one-off testing day at the Buck where volunteers drink a ketone drink and have regular blood samples taken over 4 hours to measure metabolism. You can bring a laptop or a book and relax or work during the test. Participants receive a $50 gift card and the opportunity to contribute to research on aging! If you are interested to hear more about this, or other studies, please follow this link (or email clinical@buckinstitute.org) and sign up to receive no-obligation information about upcoming aging studies.
