Clay, Ceramics + Pottery - ages 9 to 14

Wheel Throwing + Pottery: This class was designed to be focused on wheel ceramics. Throwing on the wheel is exciting and a skill that is the ultimate in ceramic work. This class is kept small to insure that students get quality time without interruption learning this craft. If you child has had a great time in one of our drop in sessions and have worked with clay or on the potters wheel, you will LOVE this class. With a rich curriculum, this class allows for challenging and exciting exploration. Mid fire earthenware is used in at S4A to create works that have strength and are food safe.

Continuing students:
The course is organized to stimulate students who already have a basic knowledge of ceramics from our beginning ceramics class. S4A’s goal is to work towards increasing students technical abilities and towards creating their own personal style and voice through clay, while learning traditional and contemporary ways of working with this medium. Mid fire earthenware is used in the studio to create works that have strength and are food safe.
