    Join rangers and a few of our experienced local anglers on Father's Day weekend to learn the secrets and tricks of the trade when fishing from a pier. This event is ideal for all ages. All skill levels are welcome and no experience is necessary. Don't forget to bring your dad and a fishing pole! A limited amount of poles will be available on a first come, first-served basis. A valid California fishing license is required when fishing from the shore, not from the pier. Event details.
  • World Giraffe Day

  • Civil War Days
    Angel Island State Park, Tiburon
    Saturday, 10 am–5 pm

    The event is an historic reenactment of life at Camp Reynolds during the Civil War Era. Visitors are invited to explore the 1863 Union Army post at Camp Reynolds and become recruits to the Union Army, Try their hand at baking army bread and learning other soldierly skills. There will be exciting mock battles between Union and Confederate forces each day by historic re-enactors and park volunteers on the parade ground. Event details
  • Northern California Pirate Festival

  • Astronomy Night on Mt. Tam

    This educational program is designed to give the public and students of all ages and backgrounds a better understanding of our universe by hearing about current theories and discoveries followed by an opportunity to observe through telescopes. Following the lecture, audience members are invited to the Rock Spring parking  area to view through telescopes provided by members of the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers. The observing session (or “starparty”) lasts from 1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on the seeing conditions and the size of the crowd. Speaker: Pascal Lee, Planetary Scientist, Mars & SETI Institutes.   • Father's Day Pancake Breakfast at West Point Inn

    Jump on the ferry in Tiburon and take a boat ride to Angel Island. The first 100 dads on board on Father's Day will get a gift certificate for a free Whale Watching & Wildlife Tour cruise on the Angel Island Tiburon Ferry.
