San Domenico Kindergarten: Where Learning Is a Celebration!

San Domenico Kindergarten

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored shout-out from San Domenico School.

At SD, students love to grow and learn, not only in our classrooms, but also in our Visual Arts Studio, 3-D Maker’s Lab, Music Conservatory, one- acre Garden of Hope, and on our playing fields. We foster a growth mindset in every student by stretching their minds, tapping into their insatiable curiosities, and modeling a joyful, life-long love of learning. The result? Bright-eyed, eager students ready to devour learning in a Kindergarten environment that feels like a celebration!

We teach even our youngest students how to think rather than what to think. As a result, students become curious, expansive, and creative thinkers. We encourage inquiry and never tire of questions because we understand that for our children, the world is a vast and wondrous place; when children ask the ubiquitous, “WHY?” they are attempting in earnest to demystify the world around them. Our job is to guide them on that path with innovative teaching and plenty of encouragement, allowing them to become their best and most inspired selves!

  • Our private buses are included in tuition and extend across the Bay Area

  • We offer after-school lessons in swimming, music, horseback riding, tennis, 3D lab, and more

  • Our after-care program provides a nurturing, safe, and fun environment everyday until 5 pm

  • Our Seed-to-Table program in our one-acre organic garden is the heart of our award winning Sustainability Program

  • Our healthy hot lunch and morning soup are included in tuition

  • Our student to teacher ratio is 8:1

  • Our Music Conservatory boasts 30 professional music staff

  • Over 34% of our families receive tuition assistance

Rooted in the Dominican tradition of working for social justice in order to spread peace and protect our environment and all beings, service learning is woven into the fabric of everyday life at SD. We celebrate even our youngest students’ natural desire to give of themselves through service projects both on campus and in the community.

We believe that teaching kindness cannot be underestimated. We refer to our social and emotional learning philosophy as ‘education on purpose,’ because an exceptional education, where values and academics join together, creates more than just great students, it develops great people.
