Valentine's Day Fun for Families in the Bay Area

Valentine's Day is coming up, and so are many fun activities for kids of all ages! Here's our guide to family Valentine's Day events in Marin and the Bay Area. Make Valentine's Day cards, have a tea party with your favorite bear, and more.

  • Family Fun Night-Special Valentine Theme
    Habitot Children's Museum, Berkeley
    Friday, February, 8, 5:30–7:30 pm

    In the Art Studio, there will be a wide variety of art materials for you to make your own special valentines for those you love. For builders and inventors, we'll also have our new Art Cart available for making recycled art projects. Museum admission applies for this event. Location: 2065 Kittredge Street, Berkeley.   • Valentine's Teddy Bear Tea

    Seatings: 9:30, 10:30 & 11:30 am, 1, 2 & 3 pm

    Bookmarks hosts its annual Teddy Bear Tea for young children and their families. Delight your children with this age-old tradition. The Founders Room in the library will be transformed into A Secret Garden with elegant tables laden with hot chocolate, delicious nibbles and a special treat from Rustic Bakery.  Tickets: $35; $350 for a table of 10.   • Valentine Cookie Decorating

    Kids can decorate their own heart shaped cookies anytime between 12-3 pm. Self-guided instruction. Drop In anytime, get your cookie, and have some fun! Details: $6 in advance plus service fee.   • Hearts on the Hill Fundraiser
    Corte Madera Community Center
    Saturday, Februrary 9, 3:30–6:30 pm

    Join us for the annual Hearts on the Hill Fundraiser benefiting Kids on the Hill Preschool in Corte Madera! Activites for the whole family: carnival-style games, face painting, arts and crafts, food and drinks (cupcakes!), a live DJ, dancing, and a silent auction. All activities will be held indoors at the Corte Madera Community Center this Saturday, February 9th from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and children 2 and under are free!     Join us for a fun class all about Valentine’s Day Cookies! We’ll make one of our favorite cookie doughs together, then roll it out and use our Cookie Stamps to emboss them with heart, bee mine, and love designs. Suitable for ages 5–13.   • Family Program: A Botanical Valentine's Day Tea

    Our annual tradition returns with a lovely botanical tea in honor of Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a celebration of herbs and flowers at this educational walk and tea party. We'll use all of our senses as we explore the nature of these fragrant edibles, with a special opportunity to collect for our make-your-own tea party snacks and garden drinks.   • Valentine's Day Storytime

  • Chocolate Valentine Gift-Making Workshop for Kids

    Learn how to make hot chocolate on a stick and chocolate bark. Choose your own flavor for the hot chocolate and toppings for your bark.Then decorate and wrap all the treats you’ve made!   • Family Valentine's Dance

    Celebrate Valentine's Day with the little sweethearts in your life, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters are all welcome. A professional DJ will introduce some dance moves and play great music. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. Each family receives a photograph keepsake. Dress is casual, but feel free to dress up in your fancy attire.
