Virtual Theater Summer Camps from 23 Elephants

It probably comes as no surprise that the status of summer camps in Marin and the Bay Area in 2020 is up in the air due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there's a distinct possibility that in-person camps may happen — with social distancing protocols taken into account — many traditional camps are offering virtual sessions online.

Marin's 23 Elephants Theatre Company is pivoting its summer 2020 program and offering three virtual programs for kids ages 5 to 16 as part of their CREATIVE SHELTER program. Join in and have a blast as you sing, dance, and act while sheltering in place! Enrollment information will be posted on their website, www.23elephants.org, soon.

• Broadway Bootcamp — Summer of Lin: Virtual Edition
  Back for a third year, Broadway Bootcamp is a two-week long, fully immersive online workshop that explores the ground-breaking work of Tony award winning composer, lyricist and performer, Lin Manuel Miranda. Students will explore the worlds of Hamilton, In The Heights, and Moana, and more! Activities will include dance, vocal, and theatre classes, choreography, and vocal performance. Students will be encouraged to get their creative juices flowing, building a virtual showcase to be shared with family and friends! June 15–June 26, Monday-Friday, 1–4 pm, online via Zoom.
• The Show Must Go Online
  In this first-of-its kind musical, each actor will receive a 1 to 2 minute scene/song to rehearse, video record, and upload. When all the videos are played in order, they tell the hilarious story of a group of passionate students desperate to keep their annual musical alive…online! Activities will include dance, vocal and theatre classes, choreography, and vocal performance. Every student who enrolls gets a part and a feature song! Each session culminates in a virtual musical for family and friends to share online! Two Sessions: July 6–18 and July 20–31, Monday-Friday, 1–4 pm, online via Zoom.
• Virtual Musical Theatre Mini Camps
  Join us online for these exciting one week camps. Enroll in one, or all seven! Weekly themes include Trolls the Movie, Disney’s Aladdin, Disney’s Descendants, Wizard of Oz, Frozen II, Madagascar, and The Little Mermaid! Space is limited. Activities will include singing, dancing, and acting classes, as well as arts and crafts projects, that explore each week’s theme. Each camp will culminate in a virtual shareformance for family and friends. Check their website for a full schedule.
