Bowling Birthday Parties at San Rafael's Country Club Bowl
If you're planning a birthday party, why not consider bowling? You probably went to birthday parties at the bowling alley when you were a kid, and you probably had a blast, too. Bowling is fun, exciting (remember when you knocked down that first pin?) and makes for a great birthday party experience. Throw in the fact that there's usually food and drink available on-site, and that you don't have to clean up, and it has the makings for the perfect party.
The crash of the pins, getting your bowling shoes, picking out that perfect bowling bowl, and learning to keep score are all part of the experience. It's a fun activity that all partygoers—kids and parents alike—can enjoy, too.
Country Club Bowl in San Rafael has been a local institution since 1959, and is Marin County's only bowling alley. They offer a birthday party package that includes:
- Two hours of bowling for both kids and parents
- Food to eat while bowling
- Rental shoes
- Optional ramps and bumpers
- A party table and chairs (for cake and presents)
- One large cheese pizza per lane
- One pitcher of beverages per lane
- Party plates, cups, and napkins
- Party favors
You'll also have a party and lane attendant on hand to help you manage all the fun. Parents are welcome to bring balloons and other party decorations, too.
The cost of the birthday party package is $18 per child, with a 10 child minimum and five kids per lane. Bowl individually or with partners, and of course parents are encouraged to join in, too. First-time or beginning bowlers can use the optional ramps and bumpers to avoid worrying about gutter balls and just have a great time. In addition to bowling, there's an arcade available with video games, pinball, air hockey, and other attractions.

Country Club Bowl is located at 88 Vivian Street (off East Francisco Boulevard) in San Rafael. They're open Monday and Tuesday 11 am–11 pm; Wednesday Thursday, and Sunday 10 am–11 pm; and Friday and Saturday 10 am–midnight. Villa York Pizza and Grill is located on-site inside the bowling alley.
