Drop-In Art-Making
This event is expired.
Every Sunday and select school holidays from 11am–3pm, families can experience a new adventure in art-making free with admission to The Contemporary Jewish Museum. As always, the hands-on fun inspires children to learn more about the exhibitions on display in the galleries, the building’s architecture, or holidays and traditions while experimenting with materials and art techniques.
Sunday, February 7: Superhero Scratch-Art
Design your own superhero (or re-create your favorite) using fun scratch art papers.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Chasing Justice.
Sunday, February 14: Maker Valentine’s Cards: Photo Transfers
Explore a new photographic technique using transfer paper to make a unique artwork for the one you love.
Sundays, February 21 & 28: Micro Art
Science and art come together in this workshop presented in collaboration with The California Academy of Sciences. Check out the stunning world of small organisms in the photomicroscopy on view as part of the exhibition Roman Vishniac Rediscovered, and then look through high-powered microscopes and make art inspired by your discoveries.
