Great Ways to Keep Kids Busy

I’m always looking for ways to keep my kids occupied while shopping or sitting in the car. My 2-year-old daughter, especially, is constantly on the go. I found a great article in Parent’s Magazine, “100 Ways to Keep Little Kids Happy,” that offers wonderful ideas to keep the little ones occupied. Some of the categories include:

Some of the suggestions include celebrating a new holiday, such as “purple day” or “polka dot day,” pack a dry-erase pen in your purse so your child can decorate the mirror in the dressing room when you’re trying things on (it is easily wiped off with a tissue). Also, they suggest finger painting with pudding on a placemat or cookie sheet, which my son did a school a few weeks ago and had a blast. They have some really neat toy recommendations and some great book recommendations, such as Knuffle Bunny (one of my daughter’s favorites). A few of their 5-minute activities include letting your child scrub in the sink with a sponge and some soapy water, dancing on bubble wrap, or playing with a calculator. Anyway, you probably get the point. I thought this was a really neat article to give you some great ideas for the next time you absolutely need to keep the little tykes occupied.
