Weekend Along Farm Trails: September 27 and 28

Sonoma County Farm Trails is celebrating their 36th anniversary, so gather the family and check out some of the wonderful farms in our backyard! This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, a variety of farms will open their doors for a special weekend of fun activities and informative tours to start celebrating the fall harvest. Participating farms will be featuring pumpkin patches, special farm tours, farm animals, freshly picked fruits and vegetables, restaurants, wineries, and activities for the kids. Some of the kid-friendly farms include:

Adobe Pumpkin Farm, located in Petaluma at East Washington St. and Adobe Rd., offers a free mini pumpkin for each child visiting this weekend. They also offer pick-your-own pumpkins, flowers, a haunted house, a corn maze, and more. They’re open from 10 a.m. to dusk. More info: www.adobepumpkinfarm.com.

Andersen's Organic Vegetable Stand & Pumpkin Patch, located at 4588 Bodega Avenue in Petaluma offers organic vegetables and melons. There is also a pumpkin patch with corn maze, hay rides, and games. Great for kids and tours. For more info, call  (707) 529-1279.

Field of Greens is located at 1777 W. Watmaugh Road in Sonoma. Pick your own pumpkins or decorative gourds off the vine. They have  hayrides, a hay maze (for young kids), fruits and vegetables, farm animals, a play area and crafts. Come for the great pumpkin hunt at 11:00 am and story time at 11:30 am. Come try some homemade ice cream, organic apple cider and snacks. Hours: 10:00 am- 6:00 pm daily. For more info, go to www.myfieldofgreens.com.
