The Marin Symphony Family Concert is This Weekend

Marin Symphony family concertGet your tickets now for this weekend's Marin Symphony Family Concert on Sunday, September 28 at 3 pm. The theme of this family-friendly concert is “Gotta Dance!”, and features famous walzes, tangos, can-cans, polkas, and ballet music. The Marin Symphony’s Family Concerts are special one-hour programs designed to introduce children to the wonders of symphonic music. Conducted by George Thompson and narrated by KDFC radio’s Hoyt Smith, the concert features classical works by Strauss, Haydn, Offenbach, Tchaikovsky, and others. The concert takes place in the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium at Marin Center in San Rafael.

If you haven’t been to one of the Marin Symphony’s Family Concerts yet, you really owe it to yourself to check one out. We've attended them and had a great time. As an added bonus, they were able to try out orchestra instruments in an "instrument petting zoo" in the Marin Center’s Redwood Foyer after the concert, which was really neat.

Tickets are a bargain: $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are on sale now. To order advance tickets, call the Marin Center Box Office at (415) 499-6800. Seating is general admission, so get there early for a good spot, as it’s a popular performance. More information: www.marinsymphony.org/family_concert.htm
