April Classes and Programs at Parents Place Marin

Parents Place 2-year-oldParents Place in San Rafael has been a valuable resource for countless Marin County parents and families. They offer a wide variety of programs and classes for parents and children throughout the year. Here are a few of the classes they are offering for the month of April.

Webinar: Raising Your Only Child (parents of children of any age)

Parents of only children often worry if their child can be happy and well-adjusted without siblings. During this webinar, we will discuss the many myths about only children and explore the research on how only children develop. We will learn strategies which help to avoid spoiling your child, and which help to foster independence and positive social relationships. Terrific Toddlers and Twos (1–3 years)

Acquire a developmental understanding of how best to support your little ones and preserve your sanity! We will talk about setting limits, guiding behavior, developing social skills, understanding tantrums, and more. With Bonnie Romanow, BA, childhood development specialist. Infant and Child CPR (for expectant parents, parents, grandparents, and caregivers of children up to onset of puberty)

Learn to recognize an infant or child in distress, rescue measures for choking, CPR techniques, and infant sleep safety. Includes hands-on practice with mannequins. One-year certification provided. Pre-crawling babies welcome. With Shanda Manion, CPR instructor certified by the American Heart Association in basic life support. Thursday, April 9, 7–9 pm, or Thursday, April 23, 1–3 pm. $45.
