- Make marshmallow catapults at Science Saturdays at Spring Lake Park in Santa Rosa, Saturday, 11 am & 1 pm.
- Drop-in to Build a Mini Bookcase at at Goodies Kids Club, Goodman Building Supply, Mill Valley, 12:30–2 pm.
- SF Public Library presents story time under the Entwined: Elder Mother tree in Golden Gate Park, Saturday, 2:30–3 pm; bookmobile 1–6 pm.
- Join Mill Valley Library for Family Storytime in the Children's Room. Saturday, 3–3:30 pm.
- Kick off the New Year with a campfire program at the historic Sonoma Barracks, Saturday, 5:30 pm.

- Enjoy a day of art and family fun at SFMOMA on Free Family Day! Sunday, 10 am–6 pm.
- Learn about animals of the arctic at Marine Science Sundays at the Marine Mammal Center, Sunday, noon & 2 pm.
- Join local cartoonists at the Charles M. Schulz Museum's Bay Area Comic Slam to celebrate their new books with live comic readings followed by a book signing, Sunday, 2 pm.
