Bindlestiff Studio is proud to begin a special all-ages, kid-friendly music series, ANAK ROCK SF!

Each show in the series will benefit a different SoMa youth group, spotlighting the wonderful work they do for the community. This inaugural show will be dedicated to the Galing Bata Bilingual Program at the Filipino Education Center, which provides quality guidance, care, and protection (gabay, lingap, bantay) to students from Kindergarten to 8th grade during the after school hours and during 5 weeks in the summer. The program provides cultural and linguistic bi-literacy in English and Filipino (Tagalog) and promotes the development of a healthy bi-cultural identity by harmonizing the Filipino and American identities of the children.

ANAK ROCK SF provides a supportive environment for parent-musicians to encourage them to continue to play gigs. Just because you become a parent, doesn't mean you have to stop playing or watching live music. But bars and nightclubs aren't exactly welcoming places for kids. So for the ANAK ROCK SF music series at Bindlestiff Studio, we convert our green room into a day care center so parents can feel comfortable bringing their kids. And with the help our of featured SoMa youth group, we provide activities for children to enjoy.
