The Big Foot 2016 – Artist Reception
This event is expired.
Beverly Mayeri's art pieces are about our connection to nature and the beauty and fragility of life. The Big Foot 2016 highlights 164 endangered species in California. These species are in trouble because our environmental footprint is too large. Since these endangered species are located here maybe we can help them survive.
The list of species came from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the photos of species were donated by many California photographers. The Big Foot 2016 was completed during Mayeri's one-month residency at the de Young Museum, December, 2015. It is 6' long and will be on display along with a scroll of footprints outlining steps we might take to help the environment.
Reception for both artists Saturday April 22 from 1 - 3 pm.
