Community Music Day

This event is expired.

Families from all over the Bay Area flock to Crowden's annual free musical carnival, Community Music Day, for a day of musical fun and exploration!

Festivities feature an "Instrument Petting Zoo," where kids and adults alike touch and learn to make sounds on the instruments of a symphony orchestra. We even have special miniature string instruments for tiny hands and fingers.

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra will perform short and engaging programs based on the musical theme, "The Sound of Music" at 10:40, 11:20, and 12:00pm. Tumbling mats for wriggling toddlers, short selections, and hands-on musical activities make this the perfect way to introduce the youngest children to the joys of live classical music!

Family members of all ages can sing, dance, move, and drum together in our short class demonstrations by Crowden and East Bay Music Together.

Construct your own instruments to make music at home with in our instrument crafts room.

Featuring musical performances for kids, by kids throughout the day, including Crowden School and Suzuki students and the San Francisco Girls Chorus.

With face painting, BBQ food truck by Bel Campo Meat Co., sheet music sale, prizes for every kid, and much more!

Community Music Day is free to the public at Crowden Music Center on October 23. For more information visit www.crowden.org
