Digital Storytelling and Waldorf Education: An Unlikely Encounter

This event is expired.

Why would a premier computer animation studio want to hire graduates from a school with a slow tech approach? Find out on October 28th at Digital Storytelling and Waldorf Education: An Unlikely Encounter.

"As a parent and Pixar employee for the last 18 years, I saw some very interesting parallels between the how and what my children were learning at the Waldorf school and what makes Pixar such a successful animation studio." said Guido Quaroni. "I think this territory is essential for kids to thrive as adults and I thought more parents would be interested in hearing about it."

Noah Klocek, a Waldorf graduate and much in demand Pixar Art Director, will join the conversation as well as three Marin Waldorf School teachers: Kristine Deason, Gail Weger, and Deborah Kirkorian.

Krikorian, the 8th grade teacher at the school, said she is looking forward to the encounter because it shows that things that might collide can actually support each other. “It’s interesting that the idea came unsolicited from someone whose livelihood is based on tech, but who recognizes that something extra is needed to be really successful in the field,” she said.
