"Embody: Learning to Love Your Unique Body" Book Signing and Discussion

This event is expired.

“Embody: Learning to Love Your Unique Body (and quiet that critical voice!)” provides a simple, yet powerful path to healing for individuals of all backgrounds, ages, and genders who struggle with body dissatisfaction, demoralization from failed diets, or pressure to conform to beauty and health “ideals” promoted in the media. Author Connie Sobczak and therapist Elizabeth Scott, LCSW, teach people how to overcome conflicts with their bodies to lead happier, more productive lives through their nonprofit organization, The Body Positive, based in Berkeley, CA.

The discussion will include:

• The Be Body Positive Model’s 5 core Competencies: Reclaim Health, Practice Intuitive Self-Care, Cultivate Self-Love, Declare Your Own Unique Beauty, and Build Community
• Using the Body Positive Practices in each chapter to incorporate the Competency skills into daily life
• Personal stories of people who have used the Competencies to reconnect with their vital resources of time, energy, and intellect to find more joy in being alive
• Tips for embracing your unique beauty and increasing your self-love

This free event will take place from 4:00-5:00 PM on March 8th at Mrs. Dalloway’s Bookstore, 2904 College Avenue, Berkeley.
