Join a ranger for a walk to experience this unique preserve after dark. The highlight of the walk will be the Marin County Fair fireworks seen from one of the best viewing spots on Open Space. Fireworks start at 9:30pm. This event is ideal for all ages. Degree of difficulty: Moderate to strenuous. Dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight. Friendly dogs are welcome, but must be leashed. High fire danger cancels: Call (415) 473-7191 to get an update on fire danger status and land closures. If a "Red Flag" warning is in effect, all walks and events on Open Space District preserves are cancelled. Meet at the Dan Abraham trailhead, in San Rafael. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 south, take Central San Rafael exit 0.2 miles, turn right onto Mission Ave 0.4 miles. Mission turns left and becomes B St, turn right onto 5th Ave, go 1.5 miles, trailhead is on the right. From Hwy101 north, take Central San Rafael exit, go straight on Irwin St, use 2 left lanes to go left onto 3rd St 0.9 miles, turn right onto G St 0.2 miles, turn left onto 5th Ave 1.1 miles, trailhead is on the right.
