Barnes & Noble Corte Madera today announced its April 2015 lineup of free Storytime events for children and families, all designed to help explore the imagination and celebrate the joy of reading.
I Wish You More Storytime – Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m.: I Wish You More is Barnes & Noble’s Picture Book of the Month selection, the company’s choice of the most engaging and entertaining stories. Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s and illustrator Tom Lichtenheld’s sweet and uplifting picture book is perfect for wishers of every age, whether celebrating life's joyous milestones, sharing words of encouragement, or observing the wonder of everyday moments.
Activities and a social media giveaway, sponsored by Chronicle Books, are part of the fun. To participate in the #IWishYouMore Twitter Giveaway, customers can simply fill in the blanks and tweet “#IWishYouMore (blank) than (blank)” with hashtags #BNStorytime & #IwishYouMore. Three winners, selected by April 13, will have their tweets illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld. Winners will be announced on Chronicle’s social media channels and the Lichtenheld illustrations will be mailed to the winners’ homes. Aqualicious Storytime - Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m.: Fun in the sun becomes an Aqualicious adventure at Barnes & Noble Corte Madera when Pinkalicious meets a miniature mermaid in Number 1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Kann’s latest picture book. Activity sheets, stickers and washable tattoos (safety-compliant) round out the fun at the event.
Curious George Costume Character Storytime – Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m.: Barnes & Noble Corte Madera will host a special costume character Storytime featuring H.A. & Margret Rey’s Curious George. “Curious George was published by Houghton Mifflin in 1941, and for sixty years these books have been capturing the hearts and minds of readers throughout the world. All the Curious George books, including the seven original stories by Margret and Hans, have sold more than twenty-five million copies. So popular that his original story has never been out of print, George has become one of the most beloved and recognizable characters in children’s literature. During all Barnes & Noble Storytime readings and activities, parents and guardians are encouraged to take pictures and post to their personal social media sites using the hashtag #BNStorytime.
