Opera for Families: 'Summertime'

In our last show of the season we will introduce our audience to popular pieces from Bernstein's "West Side Story," Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess," Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music" and more! Join us for fun activities, singing, dancing and acting. All ages are welcome.

The performers are:
Pianist Efrat Levy is the creator of Opera for Families. She performs regularly with opera singers and chamber ensembles world-wide and works as a corepetitor at the Israeli Opera house and the State-Opera in Berlin.

Enthusiastic about the idea of exposing young children to the wonders of opera, Efrat created this interactive musical program for children and performs in pre-schools throughout Berlin, Israel and California.

Soprano Amy Foote has sung an expansive repertoire, ranging from leading roles on the operatic stage to world premieres of contemporary chamber music.

She recently performed Cunegonde from Bernstein's "Candide" with Lamplighter's Music Theater as well as the role of Vixen in Janacek's "Cunning Little Vixen" with West Edge Opera.

Mezzo soprano Deborah Rosengaus is a Bay Area native. She has performed in East Asia, Australia, Mexico, Europe and across the U.S. She performs regularly in opera and musical theater.
