DIESEL, A Bookstore in Larkspur proudly welcomes illustrator Lorraine Rocha to the store to read and sign her new book, "Zebra on the Go", on Saturday, April 1st, at 11:00am. This will be her publication party and perfect for children ages 3-6 along with their parents or guardians.
An energetic read-aloud about the circus running away with itself! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages: the circus is beginning. Fierce Lion and speedy Zebra are stepping into the ring to perform their act but wait, things aren't going quite according to plan, Zebra is on the go and Lion is in hot pursuit! Jill Nogales' rollicking text keeps readers on their toes while newcomer Lorraine Rocha's vibrant illustrations bring the whole circus to life.
Lorraine Rocha started out studying architecture but quickly realized she wanted to draw more than just floor plans and returned to school to study illustration and animation at San Jose State University. After graduation, she worked at Industrial Light + Magic in the art department, contrbuting to such films as National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Miracle at St. Anna, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Ironman. Lorraine has also worked as a concept artist on the game Bioshock 2 and taught classes at The Art Institute of Las Vegas. Lorraine lives with her two favorite people, her husband and daughter. All three enjoy singing and dancing, and Lorraine’s cooking.
