Southside Festival

This event is expired.
On Saturday, April 29th from Noon to 7:00 p.m., Imprint.City will launch the 2017 Southside Festival in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood with support from with support from San Francisco's Office of Economic and Workforce Development/Invest in Neighborhoods and Five Point Development.
The Southside Festival is a day-long, FREE, music & arts festival, showcasing local visual artists and musicians, however unlike most festivals, Southside will enliven indoor spaces, using music as a vehicle to bring individuals to local businesses. On Sunday, April 30th from 2-4:00pm, the second day of the festival, visual artist and Bayview Senior Service resident, Ira Watkins, will curate an arts exhibition while Sprayview muralist Cameron Moberg will paint another large-scale outdoor mural on Egbert Avenue, now know to many as the Sprayview.
The festival takes place inside of Laughing Monk Brewing and Seven Stills Distillery both located on Egbert Avenue, an area experiencing an increase of maker spaces. Imprint.City has also forged a partnership with Potrero Hill's Phono Del Sol Festival producers the Bay Bridged, to build a stronger artistic and economic connection between District 10 neighborhoods. The Southeast sector of San Francisco is rich with artistic resources including the Minnesota Street Project in Dogpatch and the Hunters Point Shipyard artist colony in the Bayview however unlike Dogpatch, Bayview still struggles with low foot traffic and business attrition, Imprint.City hopes to be a part of the solution to this issue.
The Southside Festival will coincide with the one-year anniversary of Laughing Monk Brewing, which will be offering special beer releases including their new Belgian Waffle Tripel, serving kegs of their barrel aged Devil's Hoard and barrel aged Peach Pulpit, tapping several special firkins just for the occasion and giving free tours throughout the day.
