Bark (and Meow) Around the Block – Pet Adoption & Street Fair

Join Berkeley Humane and 25+ local shelters and rescue groups for Bark (& Meow) Around the Block, California’s largest same-day pet "adopt-a-thon" on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 10 am–4 pm! Meet hundreds of adoptable pets — puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, even rabbits and birds — from shelters and rescues throughout the Bay Area, all vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home the same day.

Enjoy live music, local food trucks, sweet treats, a beer/wine/vodka garden, pet-loving vendors, games, and giveaways. Adoption fees during Bark (& Meow) Around the Block are waived by Berkeley Humane and many event partners will be offering reduced or no-cost adoptions.
