Central Market Community Benefit District and Urban Solutions present the 6th Annual 2 Blocks of Art art walk
The Central Market CBD and Urban Solutions announce the 6th Annual 2 BLOCKS OF ART art walk on Friday, September 16th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event features a range of art exhibits including: photography, painting and music in art venues and other unique settings such as vacant storefronts, restaurants and a laundromat. Bookended by established galleries 1AM, Luggage Store and SF Camerawork, 2 BLOCKS OF ART features over 75 artists in 20 locations, within just two blocks of 6th Street between Market and Howard.
New to this year's event are 'Sketch the Block' by 6th Street's newest gallery Sketchpad and photography by renowned photographer Janet Delaney. 'Sketch The Block' is a one-night sketch con that will occupy the old Club 6 nightclub - now Luxx - with numerous exhibitors featuring original art, fine art prints and books by artists in the fields of visual concepts, comic books and video games. Janet Delaney has documented the changes in lives and landscapes of San Francisco's South of Market area since the late 1970's and will premiere new work. Independent exhibitions include: Oskar Lawrence Brent Malone, Richard Perri and Chelsea Larsson. Group shows include: ArtSpan, Inks of Truth and Recology.
The event also includes outdoor music and dance, and local restaurants, bars, theaters and nightclubs featuring a variety of food, drink and entertainment specials.
