Art + History: History when mixed with art gets pretty exciting! From throwing paint at large canvas, building tall sculptures with clay and found pieces, graffiti art using non-toxic spray paint, and mural making, every class will be wildly wonderful. Upcoming and historical artists explored through drawing, painting, sculpting, and mixed media. This is a very rich class in historical artists (past and present), art materials, and how to create art.
Areas of focus for this session:
Keith Herring, figures in motion.
Renaissance Architecture, learn perspective while creating your own design.
Contemporary artist David Zinn alongside Lascaux Cave Art. What types of surface can you draw on?
Wassily Kandinsky, designing a circle themed bowl out of clay.
Taking a new look at recycled art with artist El Anatsui.
Advocacy through art in studying artist Courtney Mattison’s ceramic sculptures and creating our own sculpture of the coral reef.
