Farmers Market Salsa Festival Description:

Ecology Center Farmers' Market Salsa Festival Saturday 21, 2022
Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Park I 2151 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Berkeley, CA 94704

The Farmers' Market Salsa Festival is an annual live outdoor Latin Music and Environmental festival. Expected to attract 2,500 attendees, this year, Grammy Award winner and Bay Area favorite Christian Pepin y su Orquesta Bembe returns as the headliner, with Afro-Cuban, Afro Peruvian jazz keyboardist Erick Peralta and his band, the Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of SF, and the Berkeley High School Jazz Ensemble.

Professional Latin dancers will teach Salsa steps and local chefs will demonstrate and sample out their favorite recipes.  Attendees can make their own "People Powered" smoothies or try on upcycled fashion made from trash. Locally sourced and sustainably made food and beverages, including Craft Beer, Wine and Mojitos will be available for sale in tandem with the Farmers Market. Artisans will sell sustainable wares and local partner environmental and Latinx organizations will be on hand to share information and answer questions.

Eco Kid's-Zone filled with activities for children to learn about the environment. Compton the Compost Pile puppet, Pollinator Possee, Singing, Dancing, Bubble Blowing, Face Painting. Fun for the whole family!

Free event with easy BART access within walking distance. Additional event information can be found at:  https://ecologycenter.org/events/farmers-market-salsa-festival
