As a society, are we in danger of raising a generation of children disrupted by the overuse of technology?

YOU ARE INVITED to a screening of the documentary film Child, Disrupted hosted by GSLS Parents' Association. The 30-minute film will be followed by a Q&A session with Krista Riihimaki, the producer of the film, and Karen Hamilton, a licensed marriage/family therapist and certified addictions treatment counselor. Light refreshments will be served.

The average American child uses about 9 hours of screen media per day, and that does not include using it for homework. The overuse of technology among even the youngest children today has led many of us to wonder how children will be impacted. It can be easy to pass judgment on adults who allow children to use these devices, but are they really as bad as some say they are?  This film sheds light on how time spent using technology specifically impacts children’s behaviors, and offers insight into how guardians can curb it's influence while equipping children to develop healthy relationships with technology.

This event is open to the public and free of charge. Adults as well as middle school and upper elementary school students are welcome to attend.
