Barnes & Noble Corte Madera Invites Children to Learn Building & Decorating at Free Hands-On Learning Events in October

Klutz® Scoubidou Woven Whatzit! Decorating Project On October 18 Helps Children Personalize Their Favorite Items

ZOOB® Moving, Mind-Building, Modeling System Event on October 25 Ignites Children’s Imaginations

Barnes & Noble Corte Madera will host two free Hands-On Learning events in October, one event for children to customize their favorite things with the Scoubidou creativity kit from Klutz and the other providing children the opportunity to learn how to build moving models with ZOOB.

During the Klutz Scoubidou Woven Whatzit! Decorating Project, children ages 7 and up will learn a new way to personalize their belongings and decorate their backpacks, lockers, spiral notebooks or anything they choose, using the Scoubidou lanyard from the popular book, Scoubidou, A Book of Lanyard & Lacin g, one of the best-selling Klutz brand books at Barnes & Noble. The Scoubidou Woven Whatzit! Decorating Project event will take place on Saturday, October 18th at 2pm. RSVPs for the event are required.

During the ZOOB event, children ages 4 and up will discover ZOOB’s moving, mind-building, modeling system in which the pieces move. Children can bring their model to life through motion via the system’s ball and joint design, enabling them to play with their creations. ZOOB pieces snap, click and pop together to form joints that rotate, limbs that extend, axles that spin, and lots more. There's no limit to what children can build: from animals to aliens, from dinosaurs to DNA. ZOOB is based on real-life systems; its built-in educational value encourages kids to learn, explore and create using the most important tool of all: their imaginations. The ZOOB event will take place on Saturday, October 25th at 2pm. RSVPs for the event are required.

Space is limited for both events. Please contact Laurel Kidd, Community Business Development Manager, at crm2274@bn.com and provide your phone number, email address and number of participants for each event to reserve your spot.

Children and parents attending the events will also learn about the free B&N Kids’ Club™, full of rewards and special offers. Customers signing up for the B&N Kids’ Club will receive a welcome gift of 30% off any one children’s book or toy. They’ll also earn a $5 reward for every $100 spent on children’s products in-store or online. Children whose parents enroll in the Kids’ Club will receive a free cupcake on their birthday from the Barnes & Noble Café. A monthly email newsletter features more club events and savings.

The Hands-On Learning events are free and open to the public. For further details, visit the Barnes & Noble Store Locator at www.bn.com/storelocator.
