InterMusic SF Presents: SF Music Day 2018
Come listen local at the eleventh annual SF Music Day, the Bay Area's free music festival in downtown San Francisco, presented by InterMusic SF. SF Music Day celebrates a sweeping panorama of music of our region, from string quartets to jazz combos, new music pioneers to chamber groups steeped in musical sounds from across the globe. With repertoire that spans inventive contemporary works and timeless classics, ensembles that range in size from duo to 7-piece band, and fresh young talents sharing the stage with seasoned veterans, SF Music Day showcases the dynamism and diversity of Bay Area music making. Come with open ears, to experience all that the Bay's vibrant music community has to offer.
This year's festival features more than 35 ensembles performing over eight hours, on four stages in the ornate War Memorial Veterans Building in downtown San Francisco. The 2018 edition's theme, "Colors of the Keyboard" highlights the wide range of expression possible on that instrument, from tango accordion, to improvised music, classical repertoire, and electric organ. Local food truck vendors will be parked outside the hall all day. SF Music Day is presented by InterMusic SF, supporting the Bay Area music community since 1998.
